How do I start a successful ebay business? I want to sell cool plus-size clothes.?

#1. Read answer from Tomohiko. Listen to others experience. Besides, it is so hard to determine what something will look like on you without tryring it on. ALso, why spend hours making something for $2 profit? You need at least 50-100% markup on clothes.

#2. Why not start locally at flea market? Great way to get exposure and also live feedback from customers about what they like/don’t like. Adjust your product accordingly.

#3 – after you get some experience at market, look into opening a storefront – +size women have so much trouble finding nice clothes. Plus size consignment shops are very popular and successful. Supplement quality used clothes with your clothes.

#4 Consider holding free fashion shows at malls or womens groups to get exposure. Are there any local +size women of power/position that you could them a sample and ask for input? If they endorsed you it would be a big jump start. (But they better be quality).

#5. Contact local paper or TV channel. They often do stories on new businesses as public interest. Last year I sent a unique product to a local TV celeb and she did a story about my product and came to a local market and filmed a 2 minute segment for TV. Talk about free exposure! Worth a try!

EBAY is not the answer to everything. Its like sports, there are 1000’s of players but only a few make it big. Start locally and build your product and reputation. Good luck!

I have had a same thought idea. But still I can not start it.Because ebay business will need a lot time and little profit.Because consumers selet the best shop. They compare their price, or design, quality. And it is difficult to make speriority. There are not so big difference between each shop’s goods except for price.Consumers will buy at cheapest shop. And shop owners can get little profit.
If you can make your own speriority, you had better start your ebay shop.

I am sorry for my broken English.I am a Japanese living in Tokyo.
By the way what abbreviation the ‘ebay’is ?
